Join our team at Sunshine Coast Senior Care as a Caregiver Assistant! In this role, you will provide essential support to our clients by assisting with non-medical tasks and promoting their overall well-being. Responsibilities:
Light Housekeeping: Perform tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing to create a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks based on clients' dietary needs and preferences.
Errand Running: Assist clients with grocery shopping, prescription pickups, and other essential errands.
Companionship: Engage in friendly conversation, play games, encourage and chaperone outings to community events, and provide emotional support to clients.
Light Exercise for mind and body: Encourage and assist clients with light physical activities, walks, gentle exercises, moving to music, reading, etc...
Respite Care: Provide temporary relief for family caregivers, ensuring their loved ones are well-cared for during their absence.
Communicate: Keep open dialogue and communication with family and care team. Provide important input into care plan and progress reports. Assist clients with connecting with family/friends via technologies like Zoom.
Assistance: Provide valuable assistance and back-up for Nurses and Care Aides.
Requirements:
Confident yet compassionate with a strong desire to help others.
Independent, highly personable, organizational skills, attention to detail and able to follow protocols and client care plans.
Maintain strict confidentiality of clients, their family members, caregivers, and co-workers.
Prior experience in caregiving, including housekeeping/cleaning is a plus but not required.
Current Vulnerable Population Criminal Records and Reference Checks.
Min. Class 5 drivers license and reliable vehicle (company vehicle may be available).
Current CPR and First Aid certificates, or registered for the course.
Conversational English skills – additional languages are an asset.
Benefits:
