About
Sunshine Coast Senior Care (now Coast Care Ltd.) was started in 2017 in Gibsons, BC, by our founder, mother and grandmother, Donna Johansen, because she saw a desperate need for compassionate in-home care for seniors in her community. Donna committed her heart and soul into truly being there for her clients, and even provided 24-hour loving care to her neighbour who was struggling with dementia.
Now retired herself, Donna's vision of ensuring "no senior left alone" has been carried on by her family and expanded to a vision of "nobody left alone"; What initially started as a project of caring for a few local seniors, gradually grew into a project that includes holistic in-home assistance for individuals and families recovering from accidents/injuries (including WCB, ICBC), long and short-term physical and mental disabilities, pre and post-natal home assistance, end of life support, post hospital discharge assistance, respite for caregivers, and much more.
